Grade your card’s centering in seconds.
Drop in a head-on photo, drag the handles to the outer card edge and the inner artwork border, and see live PSA, BGS, CGC, and SGC centering ratios — the same math the Pokemon Card Scanner iOS app uses.
Tip: a head-on, well-lit photo against a plain background gives the most accurate grade. Auto border detection works best on plain backgrounds.
What is card centering?
Card centering is how well the printed image sits on the cardstock. It’s one of the four pillars of grading — alongside corners, edges, and surface — and the only one you can measure precisely from a photo. Even a card in pristine condition can’t earn the top grade if it’s poorly centered.
A 50/50 ratio is perfectly centered. A 60/40 ratio means one border is 1.5× the width of the opposite border. Each grading company sets its own tolerance — see the tables below.
Grading standards by company
Published centering tolerances for each grader. The tool calculates the best-possible grade by centering alone — your final grade can still fall below if corners, edges, or surface are imperfect.
